Hossam is a Partner at ADSERO – RagySoliman & Partners. He leads the firm’s Banking and Finance practice group. Hossam has diversified experience as he has been qualified since 2001 with almost 2 decades of practical experience as a professional finance, mergers & acquisitions, corporate and capital markets legal counsel in Egypt. Hossam is recognized as one of the market experts in sovereign/public and private bonds and sukuk issuances, banking regulation and supervision, Islamic finance, banking litigation and enforcement, debt and equity capital markets, derivatives, investment funds ship, aircraft and asset financing, real estate financing, trade and export financing, project finance, securitization and incorporation and licensing of financial institution. Hossam is also recognized as an authority in the field of non-banking financial services.

Hossam regularly advises major financial syndicates and international commercial and investment banks such as Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development EBRD, Credit Suisse , Emirates NBD S.A.E., Arab African International Bank, Bank Audi SAE, HSBC Bank Egypt and many local commercial and investment banks such as Commercial International Bank (CIB), Banque Misr, EFG Hermes Finance and National Bank of Egypt.

Hossam’s contributions to the legal market has also been recognized by several world-renowned ranking institutions, including IFLR1000 as “Highly Regarded” in the Banking and Project Finance practice areas from 2018-2024, Chambers and Partners in three practice areas: Banking & Finance, Capital Markets and Projects & Energy in 2021-2024, and Legal 500 as “Leading Individual” in the Banking and Finance practice area in 2021 – 2024.

  • Represented the Egyptian Ministry of Finance as local legal counsel on the establishment of the first Sovereign Sukuk program of USD 5 BN.
  • Acted as local counsel for the Egyptian government represented by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) in updating its existing Global Medium-Term Note Programme USD-denominated Eurobond program from USD 30 BN to USD 40 BN.
  • Acted as the Egyptian Local Counsel to the MOF of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the issuance of the first-ever YEN denominated Samurai bonds in the Japanese market at 60 BN Japanese YEN (approximately USD 500 MN).
  • Acted as the Egyptian Local Counsel to the MOF in the second issuance of the YEN-denominated Samurai bonds in the Japanese market at 75 BN Japanese YEN (approximately USD 500 MN).
  • Acted as the Egyptian local counsel to the MOF in the first-ever issuance of RMB-denominated bonds in the Chinese market at 3.5 BN Renminbi (approximately USD 500 MN).
  • Advised Siemens Mobility in its contract with the Egyptian Government for Egypt’s first high-speed electric rail system.
  • Acted as external local counsel to European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in signing their latest green project with Abou GhalyMotors (AGM). The financing extended by EBRD to AGM will be utilised to expand AGM’s fleet of electric London cab vehicle.
  • Represented Telecom Egypt in relation to long terms facility agreements of USD 700 MN before a syndication of Islamic and conventional banks.
  • Represented the 6 of October dry port PPP project – General Authority for Land and Dry Ports (GALDP) – Ministry of Transport. The project funded by EBRD. Advising the government.
  • Advised TSFE Establish JV with Etisalat Egypt, Launching New Fintech Company “Erada MicroFinance”
  • Assisted TE Secure USD 125 MN Financing Loan From Mashreq Bank.
  • Assisted Telecom Egypt Secure EUR 150 MN in Funding From EIB.
  • Acted as Local Counsel too NBE and AAIB in Signing a EGP 1.8 BN Financing Loan to Hassan Allam Properties for the Development of Swan Lake West.
  • Acted as Egyptian Local Counsel to Telecom Egypt on a USD 200 MN Loan Extended by Banque Misr UAE
