Menna is a Counsel in the firm’s General Corporate, Commercial, and Regulatory department and leads the E-Commerce, Retail, and Logistics practice. She has over nine years of experience in corporate and commercial law, consumer protection, data privacy, TMT, and M&A with top-tier law firms in Egypt.

Menna has substantial experience in supporting clients with comprehensive legal support for conducting business in Egypt, particularly in areas such as general compliance, regulatory matters, employment, and day-to-day corporate and commercial operations.

Menna speaks fluent Arabic and English and is qualified to practice law in Egypt.

  • Menna was seconded to Amazon’s legal team in Egypt as in-house counsel, where she took on a critical role in providing legal expertise on Egyptian law, covering contract drafting, negotiations, employment, TMT issues, and corporate and commercial matters. This was a significant responsibility, and she continues to provide ongoing legal support to Amazon.
  • Advised Clyde & Co. on a significant educational institute’s potential acquisition of government-affiliated schools.
  • Participated in the public-private dialogue process, in collaboration with Moharram and Partners, advising on the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law, its executive regulations, and the draft e-commerce law.
  • Represented clients such as BasharSoft, Al Abbar Enterprises, OSI Rapiscan, TUI, and Bloomberg on corporate, employment, and commercial law matters, including drafting and reviewing agreements.
  • Advised Attijariwafa Bank on its acquisition of Barclays Egypt, which included performing extensive due diligence on all legal aspects of Barclays Egypt.
  • Advised, with Allen & Overy LLP, Alabbar Enterprises LLC on acquiring a 69% stake in Middle East fast-food operator Kuwait Food Company - Americana, valued at roughly USD 1.8 BN.
  • Advised General Electric Company, with Slaughter and May, on the Egyptian law aspects of its global acquisition of Alstom SA’s power business, which has an estimated value of USD 9.5 BN.
  • 2019 Seconded to Slaughter and May’s EXPLORE Placement Programme for associates in London. The three-week program included training on technical and commercial matters from April to May 2019.
  • 2014 2015 – Team member on the Cairo University team at the University of Oxford’s Price Media Law Moot Court Competition 2014/2015. First team from the Middle East Region to qualify for the Octo-Finals.
  • 2015 Head of the Academic Committee of the Moot Court Model – Cairo University.
  • Member of the Egyptian Bar Association.
