Managing Associate

Gareer is a Managing Associate in ADSERO’s Dispute Resolution department, with a primary focus on complex disputes relating to tax, construction, and administrative law.

His practice further extends to matters relating to central bank regulations, taxation, customs, and the enforcement of arbitral awards. Additionally, Gareer is experienced in labour law, companies law, and white-collar criminal matters.

Prior to joining ADSERO, Gareer served as a Judge at the Egyptian State Council, bringing expertise in administrative contracts and disputes involving individuals or companies against the state and its administrative bodies. This experience enables him to provide strategic, well-grounded advice in high-stakes public and private law disputes.

Gareer also advises and assists several leading multinational companies in resolving their disputes through adjudication, arbitration, litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. He has particular experience in telecommunication disputes under telecom regulatory frameworks, as well as construction and tax disputes.

Gareer has successfully represented clients in complex tax, customs, and construction disputes, including the identification, assessment, mitigation, and resolution of construction claims and related disputes. He leverages in-depth knowledge of various construction and FIDIC contracts to achieve favourable outcomes for clients.

  • Represented Orascom Construction Industries (OCI) in a high-profile tax dispute, resulting in a favourable ruling on a claim of USD 445.6 million (EGP 7 billion).
  • Represented The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) in an annulment lawsuit relating to the sale of the majority of the Selah El Telmeez Company shares with a total value of EGP 600 million.
  • Assisted in representing Telecom Egypt in its complex telecommunication disputes before Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) and Egyptian courts.
  • Assisted in representing Nestlé Egypt against customs authorities’ claim of EGP 500 million.
  • Assisted in representing a leading education provider in a case valued at more than USD 3 million against a prominent real estate developer, before the CRCICA.
  • Assisted in advising a prominent real estate developer on the best practices concerning the management of disputes with real estate property purchasers and enforcement of rights in case of default in payment.
  • Assisted in representing one of Egypt’s major real estate developers in claims raised before the Consumer Protection Authority.
  • Assisted in representing Saudi Egyptian Touristic Development Company in all dispute resolution matters, including civil, commercial, and labour disputes.
  • Represented a global technology company in a commercial dispute, obtaining a court judgment to nullify the incorporation contract of a competing company and revoke its trade licence, thereby protecting the client’s interests.
  • Advised a leading manufacturer in the pharmaceutical products and services sector on a variety of legal matters, specifically relating to ongoing compensation litigation.
  • 2023 Judge at Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
  • 2020 – 2023  Coach, organiser, and conductor of several national rounds of Moot Courts on international commercial arbitration and litigation.
  • 2018 – 2019 – Team member at SLM Competition and received 2nd place.
