ADSERO is pleased to announce that Rehan El-Bashary has joined the firm as Partner and Head of Venture Capital & Startups.

This appointment complements ADSERO’s market-leading corporate and M&A offering and reflects the firm’s continued focus on strengthening senior expertise in advising clients across the new economy.

Rehan is a seasoned transactional lawyer with 16 years of experience advising founders, investors, family offices, and multinational companies on joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, equity and convertible debt funding rounds, divestitures, corporate structuring, and complex restructurings.

Her recent work includes advising on equity funding rounds for leading digital payments and B2B e-commerce platforms, as well as transactions involving regional and international investors in Egyptian and regional technology-driven businesses.

Rehan has been recognised by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 for her work in corporate/M&A and TMT, and she is the author of the Egypt chapter of the International Comparative Legal Guide to Fintech Laws and Regulations (2022–2024), as well as several publications on digitalisation and technological transformation in the banking and payments sector and on ESG and purpose-driven companies in Egypt. She is also an active member of Businesswomen of Egypt 21, supporting women entrepreneurs, and a board member of Banati Foundation, an NGO dedicated to protecting abandoned children deprived of family care.

By combining ADSERO’s tier 1 corporate, commercial, and M&A platform with Rehan’s specialist venture capital and startup expertise, the firm is well positioned to support participants across Egypt’s and the region’s evolving new economy, from early-stage founders and scaling companies to financial investors and established corporates pursuing innovation-driven growth. Rehan will work closely with ADSERO’s partners across corporate, capital markets, banking & finance, TMT, and dispute resolution to offer integrated, practical, and commercially focused advice across the full lifecycle of venture and technology transactions.

Prior to joining ADSERO, Rehan served as a Partner and Head of the Venture Capital and Startup practice group at a renowned law firm, where she advised on funding rounds across all stages of growth and supported high-growth companies throughout their lifecycle. She also brings in-house experience from her role as Legal Affairs Manager at Gemini Egypt Holding for Financial Investments (Sawiris Family Office), where she worked on significant transactions in financial services, real estate development, and tourism.
